CERAMIC COATING

CUSTOMER INFORMATION

WHAT IS A CERAMIC COATING?

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer (a synthetic plastic that dries into a hard shell) that is applied by hand to the exterior of a vehicle. The Si02 formula (silicon dioxide) is the most well-known and widely-used version of ceramic coating. This achieves a hardness of up to 9H, referring to the scale rank of hardness of the ceramic coating once it is bonded to your vehicle paint. It also provides a slicker surface and deeper/ richer color than other coatings. The coating chemically bonds with the vehicle’s factory paint, creating a thin glass layer of protection. A ceramic coating creates a permanent or semi-permanent bond (depending on the type of coating being applied) with a vehicle’s paint; it does not wash away or break down and does not require repeated applications every few months like waxes or paint sealants.

WHAT DOES A CERAMIC COATING DO?

In short, a Ceramic Coating adds additional protection to your car’s exterior paint & black trim that helps keep it looking like new through the years with comparatively minimal maintenance. The coating achieves this result by making your vehicle more resilient and easier to clean.

PROTECTION FROM UV DAMAGE / OXIDIZATION

As a vehicle is often exposed to the Arizona sun, the paint begins to oxidize, resulting in dulled and faded paint. A layer of Ceramic Coating protects a vehicle’s paint from the sun’s hot ultraviolet rays, thereby removing the risk of the amount of oxidization resulting in damaged clear coat.

PROTECTION FROM CHEMICAL STAINS AND ETCHING

Another danger for your car is chemical staining from naturally acidic contaminants. By creating a chemically resistant-like glass surface, a ceramic coating can keep all contaminants from bonding to your vehicle’s paint. The result is that your vehicle will be more resistant to staining and etching, provided the contaminant is removed in a timely manner. (See chart on total ceramic coating surface protection)

EASE OF CLEANING

One of the most significant features of a ceramic coating is that it is hydrophobic; it repels water. When a vehicle has a hydrophobic ceramic coating, water will bead on the surface and slide off more aggressively. This means that mud and grime will have a more difficult time bonding to your vehicle’s paint, and when you wash your car, contaminants can be removed with less effort.

ENHANCED GLOSS AND APPEARANCE

If you want your vehicle paint to pop with high levels of gloss, surface slickness and a vibrant shine then you will want to add a ceramic coating. A good ceramic coating enhances the reflective properties of your vehicle’s paint/clear coat, adding to the depth and clarity of your paint. Ceramic coating will add value to your vehicle.

CAN CERAMIC COATING GO ON ANYTHING ELSE

Yes, Ceramic Coating can also be applied on Glass, Plastic Black Trim, Headlights, Wheels, Tires and Chrome.

WHAT DOES A CERAMIC COATING NOT DO?

Ceramic coating will reduce the risk of scratches, although it will not make the vehicle completely resistant to them. It is important to know that a Ceramic Coating is not a substitute for more serious scratch or paint chip protection (such as Paint Protection Film, also known as Clear Bra), nor does it eliminate the need to wash your vehicle in a proper manner.

IN CONCLUSION…

Ceramic coating will certainly benefit your vehicle and add value to it. It is not a miracle cure solution; however, you will be extremely satisfied with the many advantages of this protection process!!!
